I understand Etna is having an explosive time at the moment, has this caused any problems with flights into Lamezia?

We left from lamezia yesterday no problems.
Big problem with landing at Stansted the plane veered to oneside and for several awful moments it felt as if it was going to topple over. We were seated near to the back of the plane and several people, including me, let out a scream.
Not a word of apology from Ryanair just the self congrats horns because we arrived a bit earlier.
Not even an ... oops we got that a bit wrong but will try to do better next time ( as I've had in the past) But never ever had a landing like that.

Sorry Ionian have detracted from your original post.

That happened to us landing in Stansted also 3 years ago ,it was very windy and there appeared to be loss of control ,also I think the parking bay is a short distance from the landing place as the pilot took a very quick sharp turn into it .I also was terrified and the Italian man beside me said to my husband oh poor signora.! I had problems with flying for some time afterwards .!

We flew in on Sunday. Yes a little windy on landing. We flew over Vesuvius and had a wonderful view. No red bits!
Wind dropped here now and the processions and singing started.
