Belfast to Stansted to Lamezia used to work well but then Ryanair changed the flight times and now usually involves an overnight stay. I prefer to go via somewhere more scenic and stay overnight. Belfast to Rome or Pisa is certainly a possibility during the summer months. I've travelled Dublin to Naples plus train to Lamezia and Dublin to Catania Sicily plus train to Lamezia. Milan and Palermo are next on my list from Dublin.

Hi jamesinitaly,
Can you please give the the details of flight times etc. of the journeys you have booked this June and July for my future Irish inquiries.
My Irish guests for this summer decided to come via Catania and stay overnight in Sicily and take the opportunity to visit Taormina before arriving at Capo Vaticano / Santa Maria di Ricadi. On the way back they may visit Scilla and the Riaci Bronzes in Reggio on their way back to Catania. The National Museum is only 15 minutes drive from the Ferry.

Hi again jamesinitaly,
Thanks for your prompt response.
What airline(s) are the flights in June from Dublin - Frankfurt - Lamezia?
Your July return journey Lamezia - Stansted is obviously Ryanair what about Stansted to Dublin, is that also Ryanair?

Another option that may be worth considering is Dublin - Rome (Ciampino). Ciampino - Crotone. I travelled to my appartment in Isca Marina for the New Year and found it very convenient and competitive. All Ryanair flights. The Crotone flight was only €25 each way. There is a daily flight from Ciampino into Crotone which for me is only a marginally greater distance than Lamezia . Also there are no delays at Crotone airport which is virtually just an airstrip and our plane was the only one in the airport.

Ryanair are now flying from Belfast Int to Milan.
I haven't checked the times but should connect with the Lamezia flight?

Skyscanner is usually a good website... you put your start and end destination in and then it gives you different options and prices.

We're doing Ryanair Dublin Milan Lamezia this year for the first as the most economical and least hassle. Guess we'll see in July if it works out OK.

Flights from Knock are 20 return, but you have to come home tuesday. beats paying over 100 from everywhere else

Someone should organise a survey to find out what demand there would be for a direct Ireland Lamezia flight - even one a week.
They could run it in the middle of the night and it would be preferable to the present two flight option !!

Oops...

In addition to my post, below Ryanair have also launched Dublin (via Milan Bergamo) to Lamezia...

Good Evening All,

Ryanair has launched its connecting flights service at Milan Bergamo Airport, providing customers with an expanded route choice, and the opportunity to book and transfer directly onto connecting flights.

Following the successful launch of connecting flights at Rome Fiumicino, passengers will now be able to book connecting flights on the first 25 routes (of up to 300) via Milan Bergamo.

Passengers will be able to transfer ‘airside’ between connecting flights without having to go ‘landside’ to destinations. Ryanair chief commercial officer, David O’Brien, said: “Ryanair is pleased to extend our connecting flights service to Milan Bergamo Airport, allowing customers to book connecting Ryanair flights on the lowest fares at our largest Italian base.

Tickets are now available to book directly on the Ryanair Website (albeit with some lengthy connecting wait times) for 3 New UK Routes to Lamezia via Milan Bergamo Airport.

Regards,

Mickey O
